Vail rolls out 'epic' ski pass

Vail Resorts said today it would offer a first wave of "epic" 2008-2009 adult season passes for $579, selling childrens' passes for $279.

The unlimited pass gives skiers and snowboarders access to five resorts: Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone in Colorado, and Heavenly, near Lake Tahoe.

The pass is available for purchase at www.epicpass.com.

Let me guess. It'll be real "epic" when it's the only pass option available for Vail next year. Dude ! It's $ 580 but it's so epic !

Kudos to Vail Resorts for their generous contribution to the gridlocked I-70 debate.

Like, Heavenly isn't, like, umm, on the 70, man. Chill!

Anyway, umm, epic as umm, an adjective is like SO 2004!

Will they still offer the 10-day restricted pass as usual? And I'll second the question, what happened to A-basin.

If Vail stopped spending millions on useless new gondolas at Breck, Beaver Creek and the new one at Keystone that will save us from walking 60 yards across the bridge, the pass might cost less.

wow, people still go to Vail? I guess since Vail killed off all the lynx, it is a safe place to ski again.

$579 pass
$4/gallon gas
standstill traffic on I-70
$5 toll at the tunnel (each way)
$20 plus parking at Breck or Vail
Sounds like an epically awful way to spend a winter!

Skiied Eldora today. 20 minutes up, great skiing, perfect weather, used two gallons of gas and did not wait one minute in traffic. No thanks to the pass, traffic, gas and time.
