Boulder County Chief Judge Roxanne Bailin will issue a bench warrant for former "Family Ties" child actor Brian Bonsall after the 26-year-old Boulder resident failed to appear for a court hearing this morning.

Bonsall, sentenced last August to two years probation for assaulting his girlfriend, is accused of violating the conditions of his probation by failing to pay for domestic-violence classes, missing daily breathalyzer tests and submitting a positive breath test.

Court Clerk Debra Crosser said Bailin's warrant for Bonsall's arrest likely would be issued later this afternoon or Thursday morning at the latest.

Bonsall, 26, played Michael J. Fox’s kid brother, Andy Keaton, on the television hit “Family Ties” from 1986 to 1989 and also starred in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” in the 1990s.

Didn't he also play Gollum in Lord of the Rings?

There's a heck of a proud mother out there.

I saw him at the homeless shelter this morning (or maybe it was his evil twin brother). He said he was on his way to Nederland to join the Rainbow Riots.

You don't know who I am? Really? I'm Brian Freakin' Bonsall! You can't arrest me. Someone call my freakin' agent.

Sorry son, you no longer have an agent. Your agent has being replaced by a P.O.

Or "has been" replaced. Either or.

I have trouble with grammar after lunch. Food coma.

Can't we send him up to Ned to clean up the hippie-polluted campgrounds?

He tried to call home but Mallory was on the phone.

Maybe he can call skippy for advice.

Hollywood- please clean up the child toxic waste that you dump on society. You turned Andy Keaton into Andy Dick.

Posted by buffs_buzz on July 16, 2008 at 4:18 p.m. (Suggest removal)

It's funny how the Andy Keaton character was born and then the next season he was a four year old kid. Maybe that explains why Bonsall is so screwed up. He never got those critical toddler years.

A Daily Camera staff writer was actually PAID to write this story. Hilarious!!!! The DC really is your typical High School publication.

I would go back to the "want ads" John Aguilar.

Meanwhile, a dirty hippy is given a summons for aggressive panhandling on Pearl Street. Why does the DC consider this "news?"

Brian's band is called "Thruster." They have a CD that's on the jukebox in the Sundowner. They're also on myspace.

Yea, i have to admit that the DC's choices in front page news is sketch. I hope he is found safe and that he gets some much needed help.

To all of you who have posted comments about Brian: you obviously don't know him personally as I do. Brian is one of the nicest and friendliest people I have ever known, and more importantly he is a great friend. And what issues and problems he has in his personal life are no one's business but his own. It takes a petty and idiotic person to trash talk a person who they have never met and do not know.

Wow! Some people never leave high school! I live all the way across the country and thought that the idiot rednecks I live with were the only ones who never grew up. But appearently trash is any where you go now days! I have posted some of my own opinions on July 15th's article. Why dont some of you read them. This must be a small town, because you all have nothing better to do.
