Boulder police have arrested two suspects in connection with a burglary and related assault that occurred more than a month ago.

Michael Altschuler, 20, was arrested on suspicion of two counts of first-degree assault and one count of second-degree assault, while Randy Morales, 21, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary.

The arrests stem from a July 4 incident in the 3000 block of Denton Street. According to police, Altschuler returned to his home early that morning while neighbors were having a party. He found his residence had been burglarized and believed some of the guests at the party were to blame.

He told police that he thought, in part, that the partiers might have been involved because he noticed some of them carrying stereo equipment, although it wasn't his.

He then confronted the partygoers, and a fight ensued, according to police. Three people -- including Morales -- went to the hospital with stabbing-related injuries after the fight, and Altschuler's arrest warrant alleges he caused the injuries. Morales is accused of being involved with the burglary at Altschuler's home.

Altschuler turned himself in to the Boulder County Jail on Aug. 19 and has been released after posting a $50,000 bond. Morales turned himself in to Erie police Aug. 21. He was released after posting a $5,000 bond.
